South Milford Bonfire
Although you’re probably thinking “where on earth is South Milford?” this bonfire night is a biggie. Known for it’s brilliant firework displays, the event also has the traditional bonfire alongside locally sourced food which includes burgers, pie and peas and jacket potatoes. This is a traditional community spirit event with money from ticket sales going back into the area to support local sports teams. and a free park and ride bus is available from nearby areas to ease the traffic in the village itself. If you’re after a night that will wow the kids, this is it.
I attended the Bonfire and Firework display in South Milford in 2015. It was absolutely fantastic and a credit to those who worked so hard to organise it. It had real community spirit, while providing a display that was on par with those seen in large cities – an extremely impressive feat for a small village. I very much looks forward to attending again in the years to come.
